The history of Bedouins is well displayed in the biggest museum in the emirates. The camel and animal market also gives the town a very special atmosphere. It is best seen on Fridays where Camel dealers come from around the Gulf to buy and sell racing animals. Camel Race is reflecting the traditions of the desert, besides it is a traditional sport.

During the great Camel races held in Al Maqam Camel Race Track in the winter months, owners from the Emirates and rest of Arabia pit their fastest steeds one against the other. The major festivals attract many hundred of camels to complete for prizes that total several million dollars. Camel - racing has become one of the country’s most popular spectator sports. 

Al Ain is a fantasy of greenery and flowers in the middle of the golden desert. During winter the place is a distinctive future in the region to which the visitor and tourists rush for pleasure and recreation as well as enjoying its sunshine throughout the winter season.

Hili Fun City is the largest theme park in the Gulf Region with over forty rides and attractions set in expansive landscaped gardens with picnic facilities and numerous food outlets. A festival is held annually when major international variety shows are presented in a carnival atmosphere. Throughout each year special shows and attractions can he seen for limited periods.

The famous Al Ain Zoo houses one of the largest animal collections in the world, an Olympic sized ice rink or experience a wide variety of other recreation facilities.

A wide variety of products, often at the lowest prices to be found anywhere, await the visitor to Al Ain. Gold jewellery, electronic items, fashionable clothing, perfumes from the east and west and top brand name luggage are just some of the items available in the modern air conditioned shops. Oriental carpets and furniture along with a wide range of traditional goods from the region can be found in the specialty shops. A visit to the souqs offers the opportunity to experience the local atmosphere and to barter for special bargains.
