Israel
is so full of unique things to see and do, and tour schedules are so
packed, it is sometimes difficult to find time to just relax. Well, if
you can make the time, there's no better place than the beaches of
Netanya, some of the most beautiful in Israel.
Its
pleasant mild climate
has made the city a most desirable tourist attraction and resort area.
Netanya is one of Israel's premier seaside resort cities. Occupying a
beautiful stretch of Mediterranean coast (14 kilometres of the most
beautiful shores in the world), the city provides every manner of
salt-water recreation. Netanya's large French speaking community
contributes a European flair to this bustling city. The city is
conveniently located just off one of Israel's major cross-country highways
enabling easy access to many of Israel's major attractions including Tel
Aviv, Jerusalem, Nazareth and Tiberias.
There
are a wide
selection of hotels, restaurants and places of entertainment appealing
such as cinemas, bars,
discos, and several modern shopping centres
to the national and international tourists. Its central geographic
location allows easy access to tourist sites all over the country. Nearby
services provide a wide variety of activities from nature walks for the
whole family to sports such as miniature plane flying, jeep tours,
horseback riding and sail boating. Wind gliding in Netanya is a common
thing. Many people practice wind
gliding
which is breathtaking.
Visitors
can enjoy the lovely shoreline by walking on the new 700-meter-long sea
promenade situated along the sea cliff. The promenade also offers
playgrounds, benches, grassy areas, and bicycle routes.
There are eight official lifeguard stations along the seashore from
Goldmintz beach in the south to Blue Bay Beach in the north. All stations
have modern facilities with showers, sheds, first-aid services and rented
deck chairs, open from May until October. The central beach Sironit is
open all year around.
Public bus service and the hotel's private shuttle provide transportation
between the hotel and the city centre.
Agricultural villages, orchards and orange groves, open fields and
authentic Israeli countryside surround Netanya. These areas can be best
visited by a short day trip by car. Those who are fascinated by wildlife
can feed the huge turtles in the Alexander River, surviving against all
odds in the semi-polluted waters of the river. Finally, do not miss a
visit to the nursery of Kfar Rupin, where agricultural experiments are
being conducted on a large variety of plants from all around the world.
